Monica Dominguez


Mónica joined Smile Train in 2012 to help manage programs in Mexico and has grown within the organization since. Now as Regional Director Mónica oversees the growth and maintenance of the cleft programs in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. She has dedicated her efforts to ensure that children with clefts have access to dignified, comprehensive and free treatment throughout the region. Monica studied odontology at the Universidad Latino americana with a specialization in craniofacial orthodontics at the General Hospital Manuel Gea González. She has been able to create a strong network of partner medical professionals who not only offer quality treatments but also a model of interdisciplinary care that. Her network of partners provides reconstructive surgeries, psychological therapy, speech and language therapy, orthopedic surgery, orthodontics, otolaryngology and nutritional support during different developmental stages of Smile Train patients.

Steve Mason


Dr Stephen Mason (Steve) joined GSK Consumer Healthcare in 2005 as Medical Director for Sensodyne. Previously, he was Vice President & General Manager of Hill Top Research Oral Care Division. Originally a PhD chemist (Manchester), Steve has been an active and respected member of the Oral Health research community for almost 30 years, previously at Colgate Palmolive, Quintiles and Hill Top Research. He is a member of the European Association of Caries Research, the IADR, the European Association of Dental Public Health and the British Association for the Study of Community Dentistry. Steve is an invited reviewer for several oral health journals such as Caries Research, IADR, Journal of Dentistry and the Cochrane Collaboration.Steve has published over 30 oral health research publications of which many are on the design, performance and benefits of oral healthcare products, the associated epidemiology of dental conditions treated /managed by oral healthcare products or impact of dental conditions on consumer’s/patient’s quality of life.Today, his main research interests are mineralised tissue research (cariology,erosion and dentine hypersensitivity),behavioural science and dental public health.
 

Christopher Fox

Chris Fox is Executive Director, International Association for Dental Research. The International Association for Dental Research (IADR) is a non-profit organization with more than 11,000 individual members worldwide, dedicated to: (1) advancing research and increasing knowledge to improve oral health worldwide, (2) supporting the oral health research community, and (3) facilitating the communication and application of research findings for the improvement of oral health worldwide. The American Association for Dental Research (AADR) is the largest Division of IADR, with more than 3,500 members in the United States.
Dr Fox earned his DMD in 1987 from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and concurrently earned a MSc in Epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health. He continued his studies at Harvard, completing residencies in periodontology and dental public health. In 1991, Dr Fox completed a doctoral program, earning a DMSc in Oral Biology and Oral Epidemiology from the Harvard Faculty of Medicine. After serving on the faculty of the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he was Assistant Director of Clinics, Dr Fox joined the Colgate Palmolive Company. His most recent position was Director of Professional Relations, Europe.


Gerhard Seeberger

Dr Seeberger is the current President-elect of the FDI World Dental Federation and President of the Academy of Dentistry International. He is Past-president of the Italian Dental Association and the European Regional Organization of FDI. He has notable work as an author, co-author, peer reviewer and lecturer nationally and internationally, and is an honorary member of many national and international societies.

Carlos Alberto Monteagudo Arrieta

Involved in clinical research in periodontology since 2006, with special emphasis on periodontal regeneration, aesthetics, and diagnosis. Author of best-seller “Periodontology and Implantology” edited by Medica Panamericana in 16 countries.

Carla Masoli

Dr. Carla Masoli is a specialist in Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry. She works as an assistant professor for Preventive and Community Dentistry at the University of Buenos Aires and as a lecturer for the specialization of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Salvador. She is currently the secretary of the Argentinian Dental Association (AOA) and was President of the Argentinian Association of Dentistry for Children from 2013–14. She obtained her certification as an iTOP Instructor in 2018.



Alejandra Villegas

Dr. Alejandra Villegas obtained her degree dentistry at University of Buenos Aires and her specialization in periodontics at Maimónides University. She has held the position of Head of Practical Work FOUBA and is currently still a resident at Maimónides University, working closely with dental students teaching oral health in the specialization of periodontics. She successfully completed her certification as an iTOP Instructor in 2018.

David Bartlett

Professor David Bartlett is Head of Prosthodontics at Kings College London Dental Institute. He has published over 100 research publications, written 3 books. He is treasurer for the British Division of IADR and Chair of the SAC in Restorative Dentistry which co-ordinates specialist training in the UK. David is a consultant in Restorative Dentistry and a specialist in Prosthodontics after completing specialist training in 1999 at Guy’s Hospital and is now a senior clinician at the Dental School.



Leonardo Jose Frisia


Dr. Leonardo Frisia is doctor in Odontology and specialist in dentures. He is an authorized professor at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), head of the Department of Denture Clinics I at the School of Dentistry of the UBA, head of the Department of Denture Clinics
II at the School of Dentistry of the Universidad de Maimónides (Buenos Aires) and co-director of the Denture Specialization Course at the School of Dentistry of the Universidad de Maimónides (Buenos Aires).


Guy Goffin

Dr. Guy Goffin is a dental practitioner and former leader of VVT’s Working Group for Oral Prevention in Belgium. He had several leadership roles in dental organisations and the dental industry. He currently supports King’s College Dental Institute (London) as Visiting Senior Implementation Fellow. For the Oral Health Foundation, he led the Working Group that delivered these new guidelines.

Stefania is a part-time Senior Lecturer in Cariology, Technology and Methodology at King’s College London Dental Institute and Chair of the Masters Programme in Dental Sciences at the Dental Faculty in Universidad El Bosque, Bogotá, Colombia. She is Chair of UNICA (Caries Research Unit) and co-chair of the ACFF Colombia Chapter, as well as sitting on the ACFF Expert Panel.


Nigel Pitts


Nigel is co-founder and Global chair of the ACFF and has been Director of the Dental Innovation and Translation Centre at King’s College London since 2013. He is also a director of the ICDAS foundation, the Global Collaboratory for Caries Management
(GCCM) and a Past President of the European Organisation for Caries Research (ORCA) and the European Association for Dental Public Health (EADPH).


James Taylor


James is CDO in the Public Health Agency of Canada and ex CDO of the Canadian Armed Forces. His mandate is to work with key elements of health communities to advance population level oral health through health promotion, disease prevention and
professional/technical guidance with an emphasis on vulnerable populations. James serves as Secretary of the FDI Section of CDOs & Dental Public Health.
